1Your launch checklist
Deciding to offer novated leasing is the easy part. Getting your team to actually take it up is where the real value shows up, and that mostly comes down to how you launch it internally. Here's the practical, no-fuss version.
2Step 1: Lock in your setup with your Account Manager
Before anything goes out to your team, your Account Manager will get your business connected to the Employer Portal and confirm how payroll deductions will run. In most cases, that's a customised pay file generated in the portal, uploaded to your payroll system, and automatically reconciled at each cut-off, minimal manual work now or later.
3Step 2: Announce it loud and proud
This isn't a benefit to bury in a footnote of the handbook. We'll arm you with the materials to say it where your team already pays attention, Slack, email, the daily stand-up, wherever your business actually talks, and say it with some energy: this is a benefit that could save your people thousands a year, at no cost to the business.
4Step 3: Point them to the guide, then bring in the experts
Once your team knows novated leasing exists, give them somewhere to go deeper straight away. Our full guide to novated leasing lives on the Leaselab website, and we can provide further educational material, guides, FAQs, comparison tools, for you to share internally. From there, loop in your Account Manager: we'll come to your workplace for a free onsite education day and walk your team through exactly how it works, what they could save, and how to get started, face to face. We also provide printed education collateral, so the information doesn't disappear the moment the session ends.
5Step 4: Let employees come to us
Once your team's aware, interested employees apply directly and Leaselab manages everything from there: quoting, vehicle sourcing, compliance, the lease itself. Your only job is to sign off on the lease. There's no lock-in and no ongoing admin beyond the payroll deduction already set up in step one.
6Step 5: Keep the momentum going
The first wave of leases usually isn't the last. New starters, employees whose current car is getting old, people who missed the initial announcement, mention novated leasing at induction, in your annual benefits reminder, or whenever someone mentions they're car shopping. It costs you nothing to keep the door open. You can also ask us about our refer-a-friend program to help boost uptake, where employees receive a $200 gift card when the referred person signs up for a lease.
7The most common launch mistake
The businesses that see the lowest take-up are almost always the ones that sent a single email and left it there. Novated leasing is unfamiliar territory for a lot of employees, and unfamiliar things get ignored unless someone walks people through them properly. An onsite education day fixes this in one afternoon, and it's the single biggest lever we see for early sign-ups.
8Ready to get started?
Reach out to your Account Manager to confirm your Employer Portal setup and lock in a date for an onsite education day. The sooner your team hears about it properly, the sooner they start using it.
